04/30: Rivera gets 4th save as Yankees take series from Jays
Posted by: David
Mariano Rivera notched his fourth save of the season as the Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 on Sunday afternoon to close out the homestand.
Rivera entered the game with two outs in the eighth and a runner on second. He got Greg Zaun on a two pitch pop up to first basemen Andy Phillips to end the inning. In the ninth he retired the Jays on three ground balls. Eric Hinske pinch hit and Mo jammed him with a cutter that he grounded to second. Next was Russ Adams who also got jammed and squibbed a grounder to A-Rod for the second out. Rivera then retired Alexis Rios on a grounder to Jeter at short to end the game. Rivera is 0-2 on the season with four saves and his ERA is 3.72. CommentsNo comments yet.
