Mariano
finished third in the AL Cy Young voting, behind Johan Santana and Curt Schilling.
Santana received all 28 first place votes, Schilling received 27 second place votes and 1 third place vote and Mariano had 1 second place vote and 24 third place votes.
Pedro Martinez, Joe Nathan and Francisco Rodriguez each received 1 third place vote.
