09/10: Rivera pitches scoreless 9th in win over Red Sox

Heading into the 9th, with a score of 8-4 in favor of the Yankees, Torre left nothing to chance - going right to Mo. And he would not disappoint.

After allowing a lead off single to Renteria, he forced Ortiz to pop out to Lawton in right. Manny then hit a hard grounder toward Jeter. It hoped, but he adjusted and fielded it cleanly, firing the ball to Cano to start a double play. Unfortunately, Cano dropped it (in the transfer, according to the umpire) and we got the out at 2nd only. He proceeded to strike out Trot Nixon to end the game.

It was not a save situation, so he did not get one. His ERA is now at 1.47.
