The Yankees handed the ball to Mo in the ninth with a 3 run lead over the White Sox, but that's not how it ended. The first three batters reached, thanks to three singles off the bats of Jim Thome, Paul Konerko and Jermaine Dye. That loaded the bases with 0 outs.
Scott Podsednik grounded out to first, making the first out but also bringing around Thome to score. 6-4 Yankees. 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Juan Uribe followed with a sacrifice fly to score Konerko and push Dye to third. With a runner on 3rd and 2 outs, A.J. Pierzynski pinch hit for Chris Widger. Mo got him to fly out to right to end it, netting him his 20 save of the year in 22 chances. His ERA was pushed up to 2.11 and he is just one save away from 400 career saves!
