10/07: Rivera works perfect ninth to seal 8-4 Yankee win over the Tribe

Posted by: David
It wasn't a save situation but Torre summoned the Sandman for the ninth. Mo delivered with a perfect inning. He got Sizemore to fly to left for the first out. That was followed by a Cabrera swinging strikeout. Finally, he caught Travis Hafner looking to end the game. His postseason ERA remains at 0.78.

I was wondering why Mariano Rivera ERA didn't go down.

Thanks for the comment. It's because he's pitched X number of innings and it is already so low. The more innings you pitch, the less of an effect each performance has on your ERA.
