Rivera says he has not spoken with Brian Cashman since the Yankee GM told him a few weeks ago he would prefer to wait until after this season, when Rivera's contract expires, to talk about next year and beyond.
"I'm OK with that," Rivera said. "I've put that behind me." ...
What matters for the moment is that Rivera looks like the same old Rivera, which gives him more leverage to reopen a public discussion over his contract extension. Except he doesn't seem inclined to do it, and he doesn't offer even the slightest indication that he is unhappy about it.
