Mariano Rivera only made one bad pitch on Monday night and as a result the Yankees lost 3-2 in the finale of a four game series at home.

Rivera entered the game in the ninth with the score tied at 2. The Mariners were able to tie the game against Kyle Farnsworth when pinch runner Wille Bloomquist was called safe on an attempted steal when the replay clearly showed that he was out by at least a foot. A broken bat blooper to right scored Bloomquist with the tying run.

In the ninth Mo entered and he blew away Richie Sexson on three pitches for the first out. Jose Guillen then bounced one to Jeter for out number two. On the first pitch to Adrian Beltre, a Rivera fastball was too far over the plate and Beltre hammered it over the fence in left center to give the Mariners the lead at 3-2. Yuniesky Betancourt flew out to end the inning.

The Yankees got a man on in the ninth but couldn't bring him home and Rivera was tagged with the loss. He is 1-3 on the season with 3 saves and his ERA now stands at 8.44.
