06/06: Rivera gains sixth save as Yankees beat Chisox

Posted by: David
It looked like Mo would not be needed, especially after A-Rod gave the Yankees another insurance run with his 21st homer of the season. A-Rod's blast put New York ahead 7-2 going to the bottom of the ninth.

Brian Bruney started the inning and was wild. Eventually the tying run was on on deck and Torre called on Mo. Rivera faced Jermaine Dye first and got him to fly to center for the first out. A run scored to make it 7-3. A.J. Pierzynski then grounded to second to end the game.
