Mo entered in the 9th with the Yankees leading, 5-2. The leadoff hitter was Cameron Maybin, who was 2 for 2 on the day coming into the at bat. Mo struck him out with a 95 MPH pitch on 1-2 pitch.
Curtis Granderson was the next hitter and he hit a lazy fly to Melky in center for the second out. Sean Casey was next. He walked on 5 pitches. Ramon Santiago was sent in to pinch run for Casey. Santiago took second on the first pitch to the next batter, Gary Sheffield. Sheff grounded out to A-Rod at 3rd to end the game.
It was a save situation, giving Mo his 20th of the year.
