Mo pitched a scoreless 9th inning against the Royals to preserve a 6-3 Yankees win. After getting a groundout from Mark Teahen and striking out Alex Gordon, Jason Smith singled and took second on fielder's indifference. But, that would be all there was as John Buck grounded out to end the game.

It's Mo's 25th save and his ERA is now at 3.02.

I am a Kansas City Royals fan (and a closet Yankees fan....). I was at the game; that was the first time I had ever seen the Yankees play in person. When Alex Gordon hit a bases-clearing double to tie the game I kept hoping that it would stay a close game to the bottom of the ninth so I could see Mo pitch. The Royals lost, oh well, but I got to see Mariano Rivera pitch! :-)
