Andy Pettitte pitched eight strong innings and even warmed up for the ninth while Mo was entering. His going out for the ninth was just a ploy to get Rivera a few more warm up pitches. With the Yankeees leading 4-1 entering the bottom of the ninth, the iceman cometh!
Rivera faced four batters, walking one and striking out two including Carlos Gonzales to end the game. For Rivera its his 18th straight save of the season and 461st of his career. His season ERA now stands at 0.87.
