Mariano Rivera pitched a scoreless tenth inning on Sunday afternoon in the Bronx. The Yankees tied the score in the bottom of the ninth as Brad Lidge blew his second consecutive save.
Rivera got Shane Victorino on a grounder to short. Raul Ibanez singled to right center and then Ryan Howard grounded in front of the plate before Jason Werth was caught looking to end the inning. Mo's ERA now stands at 2.76.
The Yankees had a chance in the bottom of the inning when Jeter and Damon got singles to start the inning. Texeiera then grounded into a double play. A-Rod was walked and Pena then flew to center to end the inning.
The Phillies pushed a run across in the 11th after two were out. Utley walked and stole second. Carlos Ruiz doubled him home. The Yankees were retired in order in the bottom of the 11th to end the game.
