Mark Feinsand of the Daily News talked to both Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera about the fans in St. Louis and they had only good things to say.
"This town has some great fans - real, true baseball fans," Rivera said. "As a player, you really appreciate that."
Rivera was quick to note that Yankees fans are the most passionate he's seen when it comes to their own team, but the St. Louis fans have struck the closer as being pure fans of the sport, cheering every player they have seen throughout the week.
"This town is all about baseball," Rivera said. "They treat everyone very nice. I like the way they go about their business."
