Mariano Rivera made his third official appearance of the spring on Wednesday night in Tampa. Mo pitched the eighth inning in a 3-1 New York victory over Washington.
Rivera faced Ian Desmond to start the inning and Desmond bounced a double down the third base line. Mo then got tough and jammed Will Nieves which induced a soft liner to second for the first out of the inning. Michael Morse and Michael Burgess were then caught looking at third strikes and Desmond was left stranded at second.
In all Mo faced four batters and threw thirteen pitches.
