04/07: Rivera, Jeter and Posada Set Record with 16th Consecutive Season Together

Posted by: Patrick
MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports that when Mariano Rivera entered last night's game, a new record was set, not only for the MLB, but also for the three other major sports, the NBA, NHL and NFL.

The record? Rivera, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada have now played together for 16 consecutive seasons. That has never been done before. Before this season, the three tied with Jim Gantner, Paul Monitor and Robin Yount, who played for the Brewers for 15 straight seasons.

Thanks to Mr. Diaz for the tip.
