I couldn't believe it when I saw it come across my phone. I was actually helping my son move to start his summer co-op assignment yesterday and I had the MLB pitch-by-pitch playing on my phone. When I saw suddenly that it went from 3-2 to 6-3 it was truly shocking. The Sandman is mortal and human after all. Joba couldn't get through the eighth inning and Mo was summoned for a four out save.
He walked Jim Thome to force in a run and then Jason Kubel hit a down and in 1-0 cutter for a grand slam and an eventual 6-3 win for the Twins.
Kubel's granny prevented Mo from breaking Eric Gagne's streak of 51 consecutive home saves. Both men are now tied with that record. For Rivera he is 0-0 on the season and his ERA now stands at 1.59.
