09/09: Mo Plays Catch (No Action in Baltimore Series)
Posted by: Patrick
From the official site:
The Yankees will be without their All-Star closer for this weekend's four-game set against the Orioles at Camden Yards, as Rivera continues to take his time returning from a mild muscle strain near his right elbow. Rivera played catch Friday, the first time he has thrown at all since Monday, when he felt tightness in his arm. He said he felt "a little tightness" Friday, but said it was much better than it had been earlier in the week. Rivera, who hasn't pitched in a game since Aug. 31, made about 40 throws during his session. "I feel better than the other day; for today, it was good," Rivera said. "It's much better than the other day. That's good news." So, the earliest he'll be pitching in a game is on Tuesday against Tampa Bay. CommentsNo comments yet.
