Mariano Rivera made his final tuneup prior to postseason on Saturday afternoon for the Yankees. Rivera pitched the ninth in a 6-5 loss to Toronto. It looked like Mo would have a chance to gain a save but Toronto scored four in the seventh and one in the eighth to overcome a Yankees 4-1 lead.

Rivera faced Aaron Hill to start the inning and induced him to ground to short for the first out. Gregg Zaun was next and Mo blew him away for the second out. John McDonald hit a hard single up the middle before Alex Rios flied to right for the final out of the game.

Rivera finished the regular season with a 5-5 record with 34 saves in 37 save opportunities and his ERA for the regular season is 1.80. 2006 is the fourth consecutive season that he has finished with an ERA below 2.00.
