With an 11-6 lead, Mo came in to pitch the 9th against the Mets. It didn't start well, as he allowed two consecutive singles to Carlos Delgado and Paul Lo Duca, putting runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. He got his first out of the inning by getting Shawn Green to fly out.

Next up was Ramon Castro, who managed a single to left. Delgado was forced to stop at third, however. So, the bases were loaded with one out and Ruben Gotay due up. Mo K'ed Gotay for out number two. The 9th hitter, Carlos Gomez, was next. Mo got within a strike of ending it, but Gomez singled to drive in a run, with the bases remaining loaded.

Joses Reyes was next and he singled as well. One more run, bases still loaded. 11-8 Yankees. Carlos Beltran up, with the ability to win the game with one swing. But, he fouled out to the catcher to end it.

No decision for Mo. After finally getting his ERA under 4 for the first time since April 14, it's back up to 4.50.
