Chien-Ming Wang couldn't hold on and left with the Yankees leading 6-4. Another run would score to make it a 6-5 lead for the Yankees and then Edwar Ramirez surrendered his first run of the season by giving up a game tying home run to Michael Cuddyer.

The Yankees escaped some extra inning jams, especially when Mike Lamb just missed a game winning home run as the ball hit off the baggy for a two out triple. Ross Ohlendorf was able to strike out Carlos Gomez to end the inning. He also escaped a two on, no out jam in the 11th with a couple of strike outs and a fly ball to end the inning.

In the top of the 12th, Johnny Damon got a one out single to left and Derek Jeter followed with a single up the middle which sent Damon hustling to third. Abreu then scored Damon with a single up the middle to give the Yankees the lead at 7-6.

Enter Sandman! Rivera struck out Delmon Young for the first out. He then got Mike Lamb to ground out to second with Cano making a nice play on a soft hit ball. Nick Punto then lined the first pitch down the first base line which Betemit grabbed for the final out of the game.

For Rivera, it's his 15th save of the season and 458th of his career. His season ERA is now at 0.36.

Let's go Mariano. He has made it looks so easy in the 12th inning. Again, with one run ahead (7-6), Mo retired the side with 1 SO and 10 Pitches. Mo only need 20 more saves to get close to Lee Smith (478) for 2nd Place on Baseball All-Time Save List.
