In the past, however, Rivera has been pretty rigid about wanting top-of-the-market money for multiple years.
He certainly has the right to want top of the market money for multiple years. Even if he takes a one year deal, as long as he's performing at top of the market, I'd expect him to be the highest paid closer in the game.
