With the Yankees leading 6-2 entering the ninth Joe Torre put Mo on the hill for some much needed work. In only his eighth appearance of the season, Rivera struck out Josh Phelps, Jorge Cantu and Nick Green consecutively to end the game for the Yankees. He lowered his ERA to 2.35 on the season and has looked very impressive in his last two or three appearances.
