Rivera entered the game in the ninth with the score tied at 3 and worked a perfect inning. In the 10th however, things began to unravel. He walked Scutaro to lead off the inning. He struck out Mark Kotsay for the first out but then had Jason Kendall 0-2 and hit him with a pitch. Eric Chavez followed with an infield single to load the bases. Scott Hatteberg then bounced to first and Tino missed the bag and then threw wildly to home allowing two runners to score. Erubiel Durazo reached on an error by A-Rod and then Mo walked the next bater to force in a run. He struck out Eric Byrnes to end the game but the Yankees lost 6-3. He is now 2-2 on the year with an ERA of 2.79.
